Default Any good Tips?

Hi everyone, how you doin' ? Had a room booked for the Wedge Air Jam (now postponed) drove 6 hours from the Peak District anyway. The swell isn't looking too good for Newquay so I need a little help as to where to go. I am not after your secret spots (although I will happily take them, and keep stum!!) but if anyone can help with ideas of where to go that would be great. I'm here until Monday and happy to travel. I'm not great and still learning really, but getting better all the time, so the conditions don't need to be great, just do-able. Thanks in advance for any hints or tips and have a good weekend. Cheers.

Looking poopy on the forecasts , your best bet is hitting great western beach at high tide on the turn going out as even with 2foot which is predicted its easily ridable and easy to get out , as it pushes out the gap inbetween tolcarne and great western where the cliff juts out can get good even in small conditions. The biggest issue is your onshore winds this is when you can try a west facing beach your picks are:-

Whipsiderry beach which is located going out of town towards padstow , its the next one up the hill fron the tourist trap potth beach which is totally unsurfable btw.
Whipsy does not have lifeguards and it does have a current that if your not keeping an eye on it will pull you to the right but its not that strong as to worry about it , there used to be three large submerged rocks but i think they are gone now, try this beach about 1 to 2 hours after high tide and it should be working.

Watergate bay is a long way out of town works great at high tide turning going back out , its a huge beach but can sometimes get crowded with sticks , it has excellent parking facilities your best using the council run field which is the other side of the road (look for portacabin) as this is around 5 squid for all day.

we were at Fistral today, and had 3 hours fun. although it was small but technical, and better then nothing. Town beaches seemed to mellow. Prob heading down to Fistal tmorrow as well before lunch time i guess as we heading home at the afternoon. you can spot us coz probably we will be the only bodyboarders wearing fins. LOL
